This was a site specific design and quite a challenge for me because I had to match the chandelier,to what I considered to be an exceedingly boring interior... Hollow forged steel tubing.
I subbed out the wiring since I'm not an electrician. But I fabricated it with stainless steel pull through wire inside so the threading was easier... Lots of engineering in a piece like this. Hollow forging is a tricky business...
Excellent, electrical work is simple enough as far as fixtures are concerned, its something easily learned by doing, its the codes that usually give you trouble, and I'd love to learn welding
Codes are a drag, but a necessity. I find the code for railings (no gap greater than 4 inches) debilitating, and always a challenge to still infuse Beauty. But that's what i get paid for,so I try not to whine too much. Welding is a very cool skill to have no doubt. It's usually offered at local community colleges if you have the time. I know you're on the East coast but I don't know where...I'm from Maine originally.
What a wonderful compliment. Thank you so much. Those are indeed the aspects I try to project, some are conscious, others are simply innate within my personal design aesthetic. I haven't delved too deeply in any attempt to dissect the various components, but others have. That term "rustic" has been used in regards to my work many times.

That's very kind of you...
