Stainless Steel Bracelet

I've had a little down time lately ,so been able to fart around my shop making some things for me,experimenting with forms,and doing some projects around the house...
This bracelet is made from some laser cut scrap parts.
I actually wear it on my upper arm,above the bicep.

These were two identical FLAT perforated rings that I have cold formed on my press into two IDENTICAL bands which are welded together. The regular deformations that occurred on the WIDE END of each ring were IDENTICAL,so they fit PERFECTLY together with a cool ORGANIC squiggle extending around the whole circumference. I spot welded at uneven intervals ,accentuating this nice organic line which offsets the very linear machined look of the rings.
This is an example of taking something banal,and with just a little imagination and contrivance,transforming it into an object of beauty,(albeit a subjective beauty)...
There is a certain altered consciousness that comes into play in the IMAGINING of such retrofit pieces.It has variously been described as the "childs eye view",primary consciousness,the "zone"etc. It has to do with courting beauty and opening the imagination to alternate possibilities.
I call it possible futures. My own father was a master at this phenomena. He had the TRAINED ability to look at a mundane object AS IF FOR THE FIRST TIME,and with that fresh perspective see it in a completely unique way...
