Here's the second one with heat patina. I was finally able to satisfy my visual hunger for the form,taking this one a bit farther than the first,hopefully still an artistic interpretation rather than a model.
As I mentioned ,I made the first one which was a commission ,so fast and delivered it,that i was left still hungry for the image and feel of the form.Since I had initially formed two blanks,I took my time with this second one and made it for me...
Thank you Monika! I love your photo of your little treasure trove of gemstones.I hope to have a similar stash very soon since I'm about to go to a gem show today... You probably already know this but, abalone shell is REALLY toxic to cut and work.Please wear a really good respirator.
You're welcome! And thank you for advice. I don't shape gemstones or shells, I buy finished. Maybe in future... I try to wear respirator and safety goggles to every polishing and grinding. Metal dust isn't nice.
