Stainless Cuff,alt view

Description

This is the same cuff and interior view of:
ou8nrtist2.deviantart.com/art/…
It is HOLLOW forged from ONE PIECE of stainless tubing(.065 wall).
I have drawn the two-inch diameter tube with heat and force around a pre-made form of my wrist. Notice the radius(curve) on the right of the inside of the cuff is larger than the radius(curve) on the left. This is because like most humans the diameter of my radius(my large arm bone) is greater than my ulna,(my small arm bone),and I've made this to fit my wrist precisely.
Notice the ridge on the outside edges of the cuff. I have used only an oxy-acetylene torch to forge/form this piece. I can use the localized directed heat to advantage by warming the FLAT AREAS just slightly more ,allowing them to stretch out and flatten, leaving the ridge area where the application of the directed heat is lessened and so slightly cooler. The ends of the tubing are then squashed together, welded and cleaned up.
This photo is after 3 years of hard wear, polished only once...
I have been greatly inspired by the work of the premier 20th century Danish silversmith Georg Jensen 1866-1935.This piece speaks to that influence.
To me Organic Design is the most aesthetic style because it's visual language harkens to the flowing shapes and lines of Nature.
And I still believe form follows function...

This is awesome! Not only the thought to fitting it to your arm, which is a fantastic idea, and likely makes it much more comfortable than regular bracelets meant to be snug... The idea of forging it out of tubing? That's never occurred to me and sounds like a very interesting idea.

I'm with you on organic designs.

Very cool and well thought out. Great job! :D
