This is one of my stainless steel(11ga.) round sinks in its surface mount configuration. It is spun as a flat round disk on an industrial lathe, then forced while spinning over a form with a hand tool. The striated concentric marks are from the tool. It was designed primarily for a high use lavatory as stainless requires the least amount of maintenance and stands up to heavy abuse. The foot is welded on from beneath hiding the welds from view. Surface mount configurations offer an alternate way of using a sink and provide for a unique visual featuring more of the shape than would be seen in a flush mount...
I like the simple design on this. Functional yet elegant
I bet that with a real good lightning, the water will look amazing on it (yeah I know I'm freakish, if I find something like this at a restaurant or something I can be there staring at the water for hours )
You mean the reflection? I'm a nut for night lighting off pools projecting the rippling water on an interior (or exterior) wall. Someday, when I design my totally self contained energy efficient house,I'll have a shallow fountain pool on the windward side for beauty and cooling, with strategic lighting that makes that beautiful pattern projected on some broad surface... I have an interior designer friend who is considering a matched pair of my "crenelated" sinks or two of this type ,for a winery tasting room...
I'm using it as a fruit bowl currently.LOL.
