Sphere Tetrahedron Intersected #2 by ou8nrtist2 Sphere Tetrahedron Intersected #2 by ou8nrtist2
"Sphere Tetrahedron Intersected #2"
Welded bronze and stainless steel.Dimensions:The sides of the tetrahedron are 4.25" long.
This one addresses several small but significant problems in the first one.Notice this sphere is perfectly round, and the edges nearly touch. These details bring the interior volume of both figures closer to congruity...

Excellent.
So.. what do you do with it?
Stand alone or mount it?

Good question...
Time will tell.
I admit it's sitting on an impromptu stand on my desk in front of me,but it's not good enough to show this way.Methinks I'll have to design a special stand just for it...

Methinks that would be a great idea.
Something Star Trek in nature would be pretty cool.. if you know what I mean.

Hey there, ~ou8nrtist2, This hand sculpture is fantastic. It looks like it took all of the techniques and applications you know to make it. I mean, it looks like a profile statement piece. One piece that says "This is what I can do". After the torque necklaces, which I have read are difficult to do evenly, cleanly and smoothly, is this one a statement piece?

Heidi,
This is indeed a "statement piece",but if truth be told, I view most of the pieces I am doing these days as statement pieces.
At a certain point in any committed artist's career there comes a time when the work itself conveys a statement that the "magic"(for lack of a better term),is not in the piece itself but rather in the hand that created it...

Wow, the geometry of it... It's so beautiful! And it's asking to be touched. And played with :-) Like a spinning top or something...

I love this!!!! The contrast of the two metals is what makes it so interesting.....and anything geometrical I find fascinating!!! Well done!

It was satisfying to get the sphere pretty much perfect on this second one.
