Ribbon Torc

This neck ring or torc is in forged stainless steel and the button finials are welded. I've left the recessed areas darkened by forging and polished only the high points, thus exploiting the contrast.
The Celts wore their neck torcs with the finials in front, giving the bearer another area and element that could potentially be ornamented. They were also the first in the archaeological record to forge and twist square stock in this particular pattern,though that was in bronze. A "Torc" can also be a bracelet as well.
