Thank you, I rarely do the straight up traditional stuff, but when I sketched out this design ,it had great appeal to me visually, and I had it in mind for that Tuscan Castle from the start, though it was not a commission. And it only worked for me visually with 6 legs in the hexagonal configuration.I made a jig so that each leg would be nearly identical. Also ,you may have noticed the inner ring is forged "on -the-diamond". I became rather fond of that look, much to the consternation of my forging partner, because it's allot of extra work. The "Guimard Gate" was a follow up and fully realized expression of the subtle visual advantages to forgings on-the-diamond.It took the clients nearly a year to see it my way, about the Pavilion Table. It was only when I actually put it in the house that they saw how perfectly it fit. It's the first thing one sees upon opening the huge front door...
yeah forging on the dimond can come out really nicely. Lol yeah I bet they wern't all that thrilled. Sometimes it takes them actually seeing it to really apreciate your vision. lol. Good job changing their mind.
I wanted to try something with hexagonal symmetry, and it ended up in the Tuscan Castle near the front door.
