I rarely cast anything. Most of my work is fabricated. So here's a rare sample. Silicon bronze cast from a face mold, original in wax. It's fairly thin and fits snugly upon this lovely conch shell. Thus the title "Neriad"(Demigoddess from the Sea) The model was one of my students at Berkeley long ago. I was able to take a thin shell mold of her face with her mouth open. She was of mixed blood (Mulatto) with exquisite full lips and skin like whipped mocha. I've done very little cleanup of the casting to leave the texture of her lips and other fascinating details.LOL
I wondered which of my eccentric friends would focus on that delicious new crop of iron eating moss. I just noticed it the other day when Shayna came for lunch. She refused to sit in that chair because of the green stuff and I swear I'd sat in it the the week before and had a nice chat with the neighbors cat and there was no moss whatsoever...LOL
