Circles and Squares Bracelet by ou8nrtist2 Circles and Squares Bracelet by ou8nrtist2
More cold formed convex discs, this time welded to flat squares in a bracelet.
there is a seafoam greenish blue glass bead set in the center link. The links are 1+ 1/4 wide.
Welded stainless steel.
I definitely need to do another bracelet like this, but next time preform the squares to the curvature of my wrist. Somehow I failed to remember to do that on this one. I may make this into a choker by adding more links.

Why not make it into a belt. It would be a really cool belt and no need to curve the pieces. As a choker it would be cool too but might still want to curve the bits.

P.s. I love the "moon mirrors". Someday I'll make something good enough to trade with you!

You mean this bracelet has "moon mirrors".
Trade ?
Absolutely.

Been checking out the "new" necklines in popular women's clothing...rather linear, go figure, when we're all about circles... a straight line accross the top of the breast or an angle from the neck to the armpit. I'm sure some Japanese designer will figure this out before I do...but maybe there's a reason and a harmony.

I personally find more "harmony" in naked, unadorned, women's bodies ,but then ,
I'm all about form over surface decoration...

this would be fascinating with inter-changeable squares with different convexes and whatnot set on them... could be quite interesting to see what felt 'right' to the wearer day by day.

Love the piece, will be beautiful as either a bracelet or choker! :)

Hey David,
How good of you to visit.
I enjoy seeing yours as well, the level of craftsmanship is always exemplary.
I am not a gem person and diamonds are my least favorite I confess, but your works refresh my view and make me realize it is but a silly prejudice. It is so obvious you love diamonds and so the way in which they are displayed in your piece is a loving touch. Just the type of treatment I need to see to get past my conditioning...

Its funny you say that about the diamonds. I like them but I am a much bigger fan of colored gemstones. I like using diamonds for accents but I really like color. Colored stones do not sell real well for us here but diamonds do. That is the main reason you see a lot of diamonds in many of my pieces. People just like the "BLING" I guess.

This is awesome! I don't know if I'd wear a choker like this, but maybe someone with a thinner neck would, lol.

As a choker, or the bracelet alone? I think it'd look good on you.

I think this would be really neat as a choker. Might get a decent price for it too.

I think it could be good as a choker, but I'm worried about those little connector rings getting caught in hair.
They were such a chore to mount.

It would work for someone with short hair. I'd just make it clear that they could get caught. I do that with my copper chains, since they aren't soldered closed.

I'm thinking about not using rings but possibly curved rivets.
Those rings disturb the visual a bit for me,besides the catching-the-hair-thing.

I take pictures of EVERYTHING.
I've got a new patch cord to my camera now ,so I don't even have to remove the 4 gigabyte memo card to have it read.
My little Canon Powershot A640 goes with me everywhere . I shoot anything on a whim in my travels during the day and download at night.
Sure beats the hell out of film in nearly every way...
I probably DO need to build a light box though.

I should shoot more than I do. I'm just lazy/busy and forget. Been thinking about getting a little Nikon Coolpix to put in my purse eventually. But I love my D40x for shooting my artwork.
