Blue Sun belt buckle

I've photographed this piece to feature the fact that ambient light can pass through the open bezel in the back and illuminate the blue glass bead. It often happens at odd and unexpected angles and curiously enough just before sunset. I assume this is because of the low angle of the sun's rays,but how it happens is still beyond me...
The radial shape is 2 1/4 in diameter and a piece of recycled laser cut stainless steel scrap,similar to the pieces I used for"Nemo's Gyro",only with some additional cutting:

The belt leather will be 1 1/2 inch wide and attached to the bar. There is a hook shape on the other side which secures the belt by holes in the leather when worn.
